Description

So we’re proud to say that all of our beautifully smooth flour is milled in the UK and made from 100% British wheat. Information and statements about products are not intended to be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Self raising flour was invented as far back as 1845 and was effectively one of the first convenience foods. After the brand was acquired by the Campbell Soup Company, Homepride sauces became one of the sponsors of the police procedural television series The Bill, when their slogan was "the one with the bag". While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it is accurate, it is not a substitute for your reading the product packaging and label prior to use.

Everyone knows that we Brits are true dog lovers and we know that it may not be that easy for you to get hold of the food you know that your dog loves. To help do our bit for the environment, Fred made the decision to pack Homepride flour in a paper bag. Fred has been synonymous with Homepride since his introduction in 1964, when he appeared in a series of TV adverts, with the message ‘Great British baking since 1964’ and an advertising icon was born. Please always read the labels, warning and directions provided before using or consuming the product. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Ocado Limited's prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. We have been trading online now for over 15 years so you can trust us to provide you with your family favourites wherever you are in the world.

Our strong white bread flour is perfect for creating delicious bread at home for that fresh from the oven smell. Made with 100% British wheat, try it to make some of our delicious bread flour recipes like the Cheddar and Caramelised Onion Tear and Share Loaf! Welcome to the land of rolling hills, friendly locals, and a culinary scene that will tickle your taste buds— the North of England! Fred is one of the most recognisable characters in the history of British brands but he’s also Homepride’s Chief Flour Grader and our resident expert on all things to do with flour and baking. Homepride produced a recipe book in the 1970’s which proved to be so popular that you could say it is a collector’s item!It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without the prior consent of Waitrose Limited nor without due acknowledgement. We can help with that by supplying you with your favourite magazines - you could be reading Chat or Heat, Prima or Marie Claire with your feet up having a lovely cup of Twinings English Breakfast Tea. To recycle the box, you needed to take it apart, to remove the lid and silver seal, which wasn’t easy.

Our unique process mills the grains to make a finer, smoother and lighter flour and now it’s sold in a paper bag, so it’s 100% recyclable at home. A technological breakthrough in flour production in 1963 meant that bakers no longer needed to sift their flour.Nothing could taste more nostalgic than this lovely whipped dessert and we sell so many different flavours! Self-raising flour was invented as far back as 1845 and was effectively one of the first convenience foods. Waitrose too can offer you those sweet treats - try their Seriously Chocolatey Dipping Sauce which is simply heavenly! I also like the fact that it has it's own storage container which I recycle, so much better than split bags in the cupboard. In the first half of the 20th century, flour became pre-packed and branded; however, technology and aggressive marketing from large millers combined to put many smaller brands out of business.
