Description

Even the smallest account/incident means a lot for the readers to know the iconic leader as he once bribed a policeman in his teen-hood and enjoyed ammi’s scolding. Woven into this history we see how Imran Khan's personal life - his happy childhood in Lahore, his Oxford education, his extraordinary cricketing career, his marriage to Jemima Goldsmith, his mother's influence and that of his Islamic faith - inform both the historical narrativeandhis current philanthropic and political activities. Imran Khan’s books continue to inspire and inform readers worldwide, leaving a lasting impact on those who seek a deeper understanding of Pakistan and its future. Building of Pakistan’s first Cancer Hospital is one of achievements by Imran, the inspiration came after the death of his mother, Mrs. Imran Khan comes as a different person to different people: Proud; Inspiring; Arrogant; Obsessive; Stubborn; and even Hypocrite.

Drawing on the experiences of his own family and his wide travels within his homeland, Pakistan: A Personal History provides a unique insider’s view of a country unfamiliar to a western audience. One of the many derogatory things which people say about westernized couples is that "he does not get angry and she has no shame.

It never explores the relationship he shares with the most important people in his life; be it his mother, Jemima Goldsmith, his children or his cousins. A lively and acerbic account of Imran Khan’s political career, providing a fascinating primer on Pakistan’s unlikely Prime Minister. It was always mind boggling for me to understand how he managed the project of not one but 3 cancer hospitals in Pakistan , till i read this book. Not only do they covet foreign aid money, which they then siphon off, they also ape the West and do not subscribe to the values which Pakistan’s founders had espoused.

Third chapter is his account on his university-level and county cricket, beginning of international cricket career and his life in England. While his cricket-level moves with his education from Quaid-e-Azam Trophy to County cricket, political environment in the surrounding proceeds like East Pakistan partition to Bangladesh and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto regime. The book has exposed some hidden truth of Pakistan's rulling class elite and the army how they have ruled and what they have ruled for. Signed by the author and in overall near fine condition, this is a large glossy book filled with many colourful photographs as Imran Khan explores Pakistan. I had read Javed Miandad’s Cutting Edge where he reflected his cricketing career and dirty games played behind the scenes.
