An inspirational story from internationally bestselling, multi-prize-winning picture book creator Oliver Jeffers. It is an easy, quick read and I’d say Early years children would enjoy it mostly but it would also make a great book for young readers too. It made me realise that while losing someone is, indeed, horrible but shutting yourself away in a protective shell doesn't help the situation nor is it something that person would ever want.An inspirational story of a boy who loved the stars so much, he decided to catch one of his very own. His outstanding talent has been recognised by several high-profile awards, including the Nestlé Children’s Book Prize Gold Award.

Whenever my toddler wakes up from his afternoon nap in inconsolable tears, as he occasionally does for some mysterious reason, this book always immediately comforts him from the opening page. His books include How to Catch a Star; Lost and Found , which was the recipient of the prestigious Nestle Children's Book Prize Gold Award in the U. This is a magical, beautifully illustrated tale about reaching for dreams… Adults tend to think of waiting as tedious, but the magic of this book is that it understands waiting as children wait - alert, apprehensive and using their imaginations. Once there was a boy who loved stars so much that he decided he wanted to catch one of his very own.Personally I wasn't sure about the illustrations, they're quite stylised, but this book has quickly become one of my son's favourites. When my mum and/or dad dies, I'll be sure to not put my heart in a bottle and will, instead, accept those feelings of loss and pain. Oliver Jeffers is known for his award-winning picture books, which have been translated into over 30 languages. In 2013, Jeffers illustrated the vinyl cover (a drawing of Nelson Mandela) for the U2 song "Ordinary Love". Oliver Jeffers is a creative, brilliant author that really shows his amazing imagination through his books. Finally, just when the boy is ready to give up, he learns that sometimes things aren't where, or what, we expect them to be.They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. Not sure how to explain it best: the prose is so nicely paced and there's a really good ratio of illustrations to words (more pictures than words), yet there's still a proper narrative to the book. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
