Finally there’s the B- Tier. These factions need help badly and hopefully will get it in the next competitive dataslate. Start by cleaning the miniatures using warm, soapy water to remove any mold release agent. Give them a good rinse and allow them to dry completely.

This is just the beginning of a new season of Kill Team – there’s loads more to come in the short and medium term. Elucidian Starstriders Zealous: If this operative is incapacitated, if it has a Blooded token and incapacitated one or more enemy operatives during the battle, add that token to your pool. And if you’ve still got time for more Warhammer Hobby, we have three two-hour editions of Hang Out and Hobby coming to the Warhammer Twitch Channel. This multipart plastic kit allows you to build 10 Traitor Guard, plus a Traitor Enforcer and his Traitor Ogryn. These miniatures can be used as Blooded operatives in games of Kill Team, or fielded with Chaos Space Marines armies in games of Warhammer 40,000. This kit includes a huge variety of weapons, heads, and accessories, allowing you to assemble a truly unique squad of ragged rebels and build Traitor Troopers as specialists for your Kill Team – such as the Sharpshooter, Brimstone Grenadier, Trench Sweeper, and more. Originally released as part of the special edition Chaos Knights launch box, this codex is available on its own for the first time – and what a book it is! This is the essential guide for fans of these corrupted engines of war, containing everything you need to run a full army, or to add an allied Dreadblade to another Chaos force.

A close combat specialist, this devotee of chaos has traded in his lasgun for power weapons, +1 atk, +3 to hit, and 1 wound over the standard trooper, a decent trade. In addition, he comes with two special abilities meant to encourage you to throw him into your opponent. Unholy Sustenance allows him to regenerate D3 wounds after he incapacitates an enemy in during a fight (so no grenade kills), and Blood Offering causes him to generate a blood token on the first critical hit used to strike in a combat. Take note this later ability has no Turning Point limit meaning he could potentially generate multiple tokens a Turning Point. Just as an example, he could charge into combat, kill an enemy operative generating 2 tokens in that combat, be charged by an enemy operative and subsequently die to generate another 2. This guy is barely more durable than a regular guardsman, so you shouldn’t expect him to last long once he starts mixing with your opponent. Traitor Commsman They’re also a great addition to your Chaos Space Marines army alongside the new miniatures we showed off on Wednesday.

These are just generally cool rules to have, though I really wish GW would give us an Army of Renown or some kind of rules similar to the old 3rd edition Lost and the Damned Army from Eye of Terror, where a small number of Chaos Space Marines lead a bunch of cultists and traitor guard into battle. It’s weird that there’s a Cultist HQ and multiple Cultist Troop options but no way to actually take a Cultist army. Sometimes you really want to let your freak flag fly, which is where the collector’s edition of Codex: Chaos Knights comes in. Bursting with all the same great content, this luxury volume comes with silver foil cover text, a ribbon bookmark, and a soft touch cover all showing the proper obeisance to the ruinous powers. Chaos Knight Abominant Use this ploy after one of your operatives incapacitates an enemy operative within 3 inches of it to gain 1 Blood Token to your pool. This is perhaps the “weakest” of the 4 tactical ploys, and likely most useful on Turning Point 1 to help ensure you have 4 Blood Tokens by TP 2 so you can use THE GAZE OF THE GODS. Dark Favour This set comprises 151 plastic components and is supplied with 10x Citadel 25mm Round Base, 1x Citadel 32mm Round Base, and 1x Citadel 40mm Round Base. Your basic guys, they come with a lasgun and bayonet, and have no special rules specific to them. As mentioned before you don’t even have to take them, however as we will see one of the main differences between The Blooded and Loyalist Veterans is a greater focus on close range fighting with many Blooded specialists not having ranged options, meaning you may find yourself in a position where you prefer the ranged flexibility of these guys, especially when used in conjunction with the Overcharge Lasguns strategic ploy. Traitor Brimstone Grenadier

Opening Times

The Phobos-armoured Space Marines are built from existing Infiltrators and Incursors, and come with a new upgrade sprue to put together a wide range of new elite specialists. Similar to the Thug the Trench Sweeper is a durable close range bully unit. Where the Thug reduces damage, the Trench Sweeper has the ability to re-roll any failed saves using the Shielding ability. When the Trench Sweeper is activated you can choose to activate this ability at no APL cost, but give up 2 inches in movement until its next activation. Additionally, the Trench Sweeper can use its Shield to parry two successful hit dice instead of one. Lastly, the Trench Sweeper has apparently been practicing at the range, because he sports a 2+ to hit with his shotgun. By himself the Trench Sweeper is easily one of the better specialists available to The Blooded, and as we will see in later sections, synergizes very well with other abilities available to the team. The first time a friendly operative is incapacitated within of an enemy operative in each Turning Point. In the B Tier we have factions which haven’t seen top 8 finishes but are close to being able to make it. They may need a little help and have problems in too many matchups to consistently win without a discrepancy in player skill to overcome the faction differences.

Rout– An excellent choice for a team that is encouraged to be on the offensive, but also highly dependent on the depth of the Drop Zones. Introduced in Kill Team: Into the Dark, the Kroot Farstalkers give us our first non-character plastic Kroot in more than a decade, adding options for heavy weapons and in-unit hounds that Kroot just haven’t had before. Blooded Icon allows him to transfer a blood token from an incapacitated operative to your token pool if they are within 6 inches once per Turning Point, while Lead With Strength allows him to be treated as if he is under THE GAZE OF THE GODS if he has a blooded token AND more than 6 inches from your drop zone. This ability requires the person playing The Blooded to keep a pool of Blooded tokens. Tokens are added to your pool as follows: Mission actions are specific to the mission you are playing, and will be detailed by that mission’s briefing. Missions can be found here (Open Play mission) and here (Spec Ops Narrative missions). The Blooded come with the standard 4 Strategic and 4 Tactical Ploys all priced at 1 Command Point. Of the two categories their tactical ploys seem the stronger with a few being so good that players will likely want to always have at least 1 Command Point in their pool to make use of them. Strategic Ploys TheChirurgeon: Swing and a miss here. It’s hard to add something that Death Guard would take, but Mutoid Vermin could have potentially been it if they were Troops or didn’t require Gellerpox Infected. As-is, the big guys are basically slow Spawn and if there’s one thing Death Guard and Chaos Marine armies don’t need, it’s more slow units. The well-armed and armoured Phobos Strike Team from the Kill Team: Moroch boxed set is getting a stand-alone release. The miniatures can be assembled as Infiltrators or Incursors and come with an upgrade sprue allowing you to make a range of specialists, including a Voxbreaker, a Saboteur, and a Marksman .
