If, however, you're in the market for ultimate flexibility in an E Ink package, the Note Air 2 is probably your best bet. The battery charged up in a little under a couple of hours, so don’t expect particularly nippy charging, but given how long this thing lasts, that wasn’t an issue for me. The split-screen function of the APP allows you to take notes while watching the video, which can easily improve the learning efficiency. There’s some heft to the device, the Note Air 2 Plus weighing in at 445g, although I found it comfortably to hold in one hand. As already mentioned, the Note Air 2 Plus comes with support for Bluetooth and I connecting my AirPods 2 was super-easy.

This is in part owing to its matte textured screen, and in part owing to E Ink scribbles looking more like they were created with a real pen and paper. The Air 2 isn't a huge upgrade over its predecessor, but because the original model won't likely stay on sale for much longer, the Note Air 2 is our clear Editors' Choice winner for 10-inch ebook readers and E Ink tablets. Note that there’s no 4G/5G option available, so you’ll want to ensure all your books are downloaded before taking it on a journey. The tablet can even simultaneously read Audible books out loud to you and show you their text, something regular Kindles can't do (especially because they don't have speakers).

Running Readly – the magazine and newspaper app – beautifully, and showing off comics well with apps like Marvel Unlimited and DC Infinite, its large 10. Not relying on cumbersome workarounds to get my notes into the applications that I use most is a powerful differentiator, and makes this tablet a no-brainer to use on a daily.

The Note Air has a color-changing frontlight that goes from very yellow to very blue, with plenty of steps in between. The Note Air 2 Plus’s screen has a slight texture to it, creating resistance when used with the bundled stylus. This means that the NA2+ is very versatile; you can use it in dark environments, listen to audiobooks, record voice notes etc. However, the people at Onyx haven't quite figured out how to make the security pin page flip, so I have to log in right handed and turn the device around. As an aside the LAMY AL-Star EMR only comes in black, but the casing and lid can be interchanged with any LAMY AL-Star ball point pen, so upped my colour game on that front too. This is the only real niggle I had with the Note Air series’s design, the USB-C port is covered when the tab is in a folio case.

It’s comfortable in the hand, and its attractive green finish gives this device more personality over some other e-readers I’ve tried. Compared side by side, the Elipsa turns pages slightly more quickly and its front light is slightly bluer and brighter.

The Note Air 2 Plus model is based on the Android 11 operating system and allows you to install and use various third-party apps, which significantly expand the possibilities of using the device. Equipped with G-Sensor gravity sensor, automatic steering can be set to easily switch between vertical and horizontal reading. Gerade in Besprechungen ist es besser, nicht immer in den eigenen Laptop zu schauen und dem Kunden das Gefühl zu vermitteln, dass er nicht im Mittelpunkt steht (und man nebenbei Mails checkt).

Onyx gives you various refresh rate settings that either keep text sharp or make the screen fluid enough for YouTube videos at the cost of ghosting. Since writing on the Note Air 2 Plus was a positive experience, the device did become my personal and work notebook through the reviewing period, offering the ability to turn my handwritten notes into text, or create voice recordings in the Notes app also a great addition. com and PC Magazine are among the federally registered trademarks of Ziff Davis and may not be used by third parties without explicit permission. Still, in isolation, it does the job, and writing on the Note Air 2 Plus’s display delivers a great amount of friction, mirroring scratchy paper very nicely. but I noticed minor scratches thankfully on the side strip (not over the screen itself) probably because of keys / jewelry (no sure).

While other e-ink tablets that run lighter interfaces tend to be relatively instant-on, as do Kindle eBook readers. Now, it supports live screen mirroring to a macOS or Windows device, cloud storage support and a host of other features. It does do that, but only in a very small and specific zone… we dropped it on the floor multiple times having tried to secure it.
