Every now and then, a book comes along and pins down the wild thoughts that have been circling around in your brain as you question the meaning of your life in the bath at midnight.

When looking at the reviews for this book after finishing it, a common complaint was the fact that the characters are all fairly two-dimensional.

Bringing their own unique and counter-balanced personalities to proceedings they ask questions such as: what is happiness? The problem with millennials like myself making jokes like this one, however, dilutes the genuine issues of late-stage capitalism, the rise of depression and suicide amongst young people, and the gradual heating of the entire planet.

After work you get so blackout drunk you can’t remember the circumstances which have led you to waking up next to your colleague. It offers a very clear and stark comparasion for the reader between what Iris had and what she so desired.

But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. Luiza Sauma’s debut novel is that rare thing: a completely absorbing, brilliantly-designed, literary work.

Each knows tiny bits of the story, but none quite communicate enough for anyone to really understand the impacts of what happened. While the fast-paced, well-written, intriguing and unique plot full of colourful and diverse characters made it an incredibly easy and enjoyable read. It is a story about how complicated relationships can be; those haunting memories of what could have been; should have been. So, therefore as soon as I had the opportunity to review Everything We Ever Wanted I jumped at the chance.Luiza Sauma takes us on a breathtaking voyage through both the farthest reaches of space and the innermost depths of the human soul. The story took a weird turn about three-fourths of the way in and some of the storylines were just dropped with no resolution at all. This choice of narrative style was quite interesting and unique I found, as it's not completely passive but it does hinder the authenticity of the connection we can make with Iris' character. For example, the book's discussions of mental health or its varied extensive criticisms of how social media makes us all more superficial and less empathetic.

I've never read any of the PRETTY LITTLE LIARS series, but when I saw this Sara Shepard novel, intended for adult audiences, I was definitely intrigued -- even when the description on the back sounded a little less than enticing, I admit. Earlier one of the character tells Iris about this secret window to the outside World, so it's hinted that the characters just left the building and perhaps died in the surrounding inhabitable atmosphere. Overall I did enjoy Everything We Ever Wanted finding the book to be brutally honest, emotional and beautifully written.

I realize there wouldn't be a book if everyone communicated perfectly but this took gossip, innuendo and assumptions and made it the primary focus of everyone's actions. I realize this now that after reading it was advertised more so as realistic fiction, so I guess that's my fault.
