Description

To begin with The Butterfly Summer was exciting and refreshing, the cryptic storyline pulling you in and not letting go. However from the midway point it began to considerably slow down and become rather dull, stale. Nina is such an interesting character that, by contrast, the snippets (rather extensive ones) about Teddy’s past were difficult to plow through.

Oh.my god. Just where do I begin? This was undoubtedly the most gripping, suspenseful, enthralling book i have ever read. I mean, the increasing sense of mystery and suspense was just amazing, incredibly, something I simply cannot get over. That and how spine-chilling it actually was! The mysteries and suspense just left you wanting to read more and more! I was up til late finishing it because it would've just drove me crazy if I had these major mysteries just hanging over me, I was determined to see them unfold and find out what this dramatic suspense would lead to! This promised to be the most intriguing book that had been handed to me. I am always on the look out for books about friendship, family and forbidden secrets, but those of you who enjoy the sad, mysterious and slightly haunting will not be disappointed. In this article we have compiled a short guide on which butterflies you are likely to see outside this spring/summer, as well as some tips on the features by which you can distinguish certain species. Gardens Peter Marren, a naturalist whose latest book, Emperors, Admirals and Chimney Sweepers, tells the compelling story of the weird and wonderful names of our butterflies and moths, sounds a note of caution about the recent glut of sightings. While accepting that warm weather is good for adult butterflies, he points out that it may not be quite so favourable for their offspring, which often rely on a specific plant on which their caterpillars feed. This book is really amazing and I can't believe I own it. It's so interesting and mind blowing! It's really emotional during the end and I want to know what happens next... Plenty of characters telling different parts of a family history with a little twist as to how the family home was to be passed on. This house is Nina Parr's birthright. It holds the truth about her family - and a chance to put everything right at last.

That some parts felt overly detailed and described, whereas others were in need of having more information and detail. We would also expect that, as average spring and summer temperatures continue to rise, new butterfly species will cross the Channel, adding to our paltry total of fewer than 60 species (compared with almost 500 in Europe as a whole). Have you ever read a book by Anne-Marie Conway? If you haven’t I would defiantly recommend it. I read ‘Butterfly Summer’ and I thought it was really good. It was a good book for me as it had a lot of suspense and mystery in it and I really like books like that. The story line is very intriguing and the ending is not what I would have guessed. I found the beginning not as exciting as the middle or end but you have to read the beginning otherwise the story wouldn’t ma... It’s a beautiful book that moved me emotionally and literally couldn't put the book down. The concept of and the structure of the story is well thought 10/10.Butterflies are an iconic and popular sight during the spring and summer months. They are also important indicators of a healthy ecosystem and provide valuable environmental benefits such as pest control and pollination. As food for birds, bats and other mammals they are a vital part of the food chain and have been used for centuries by scientists to investigate navigation, pest control and evolution, as well as countless other subjects. Help take a census of butterflies by taking part in the Big Butterfly Count run each year by the Butterfly Conservation charity. It’s the world’s biggest butterfly survey! I have not really read this book but it sounds good because the librarian read us the blurb but I hope it is good because the cover looks good but then again we should not judge a book by its cover I am really looking forward to reading it so if anyone has read this book could you tell me a lot but not too much otherwise there's no need to read it

Butterfly Summer by Anne-Marie Conway - review - The Guardian

This book is so good at the start but at the end I got really confused and now I am really scared and I can't even sleep, but it is a good book. This butterfly has spread northwards in recent decades to colonise East Anglia, the Midlands and almost all of northern England in response to climate change. Foodplants There's a story about the Silver-studded Blue. I don't know if you'd call it a rumour or an old wives' tale. Some people say it's an ancient myth." One example is the wood white, a delicate butterfly found in woodlands in a few parts of southern England and the West Midlands, where it can be seen fluttering along woodland rides and the sheltered edges of clearings. Although higher temperatures should in theory allow the wood white to shift its range northwards, its inability to cross large swathes of unsuitable habitat means that it is unable to take advantage of a warming world. As Nina begins to unravel her previously unaware of family secrets, the reader also learns more about Teddy – her past, her experiences and her connection with a house called Keepsake.

I admit I found the idea intriguing from the beginning – like how one butterfly flapping its wings can change things and how we over the years try to make things right, change the course of events and the things we do to keep family together.
