You either love it and are deeply inspired to make dramatic changes in your life for the better, or you hate it and scoff at the idea that what he says about how he lives life is possible for you. He has realised that whilst you are not always responsible for the situations that you find yourself in, only you are responsible for how those situations effect you, and that there is always something to learn and be taken away for everything you experience.

Big fan of Goggins but after listening to him on a podcast I was under the impression he narrated the story. When you are always in the grind, you think there will come a time when the tough road, blitzed with potholes and littered with blown tires, will smooth out, but that is never the case. When demons are chasing you and challenges are hitting you, if you feel like you can’t handle them, you have to invent someone who can. It might be a good read for someone with a big goal, such as running their first marathon, to get you psyched up.While I can relate with his relentless mindset, it is the constant recurrence of his self sabotage/self damage that is for the most part “avoidable” through overworking and lack of preparation for certain events. He is indeed a savage but he puts himself through unnecessary hells to claim that title every day of his life.
