As the big day gets closer, kids can recreate Hogwarts™ holiday scenes – including the amazing Yule Ball!

My favorite one so far is the mini Hogwarts or mini mini mini Hogwarts, because the scale turn to the regular Hogwarts is tiny…Also, it’s really cute and clever! I do like the construction of the window, which uses some really clever SNOT (studs not on top) technique, and I especially like the glass of water which has blue liquid at the bottom.

Here’s a look at her alternate face, and back printing – shame that they didn’t think to print on the back of her legs to match the great design on the front.

Unlike last year’s Friends Advent Calendar, you can fold the front down and play on a holiday-themed placemat. At the time of writing this review, this set is 30% off in Europe directly from LEGO, and sold out entirely in North America. The set includes many Christmassy things, but I would have liked to see perhaps less Christmas related objects and to focus instead on rounding out the play scene. Here’s how the combined table looks together – I really like it, and it’s really the key piece to making it feel like the Yule Ball is coming together.The face and hair combination for this figure unfortunately sports no differences despite the scene however. I think just the castle would have been nice, but tossing in the Tie as well really pushes this build over the top. Together with the trees, it really feels like the Yule Ball is coming together, and I really like the design of the banquet table, and especially the great use of colours that contrast nicely against the white and transparent pieces. Of those 3 not shown (no spoilers here) one is less than stellar; one is ok and one is actually pretty decent looking if you know what you’re looking at and don’t get it confused with something else that is a similar shape and color.Note that both Darth and Poe’s torsos are printed on both sides and Poe has a double printed head as well so you can have him showing a frowny face when you toss snowballs at him! The number of exclusive printed parts is a bit proportionate to the number of exclusive printed minifigure parts, though not perfectly.
