This is a moving and funny debut novel set in a quirky coastal community you will be desperate to visit after reading. Jude Winter hasn’t seen her high school boyfriend in over a decade, since that one heady summer night when a car crash changed everything. Granted, the main character seems unstable and undecided beyond belief, letting herself stay surprisingly adrift and tossed around by events, but it still kept me glued to the book. I was disappointed in the story and the characters and only the unique writing style of ‘Nicci French’ kept me interested.
