While this machine is perfect for sewing and quilting, it cannot embroider. You’re limited to free-motion embroidery. But you’ll have ample embroidery stitches and alphabets to play with if you’re up for it. The hoop has two positions to move the hoop down after the first section rather than having to rehoop fabric between the two stitching sessions. Pre-pandemic, the Brother SE1900 was significantly more expensive than the PE800, but now the prices of the two machines are much more similar.

However, this specific Janome model is not highly reviewed–most likely because it is over ten years old! Janome has been focusing much more of its time lately on developing top-of-the-line embroidery machines like the newest industry leader, the Janome M17. The Eversewn Sparrow X2 contains 100 embroidery designs and a 4.75″ x 7″ hoop size, which is comparable to the Brother PE900. Among the accessories, you get seven presser feet, which you can use interchangeably to suit the project requirements.Like the older Brother embroidery machines, design transfer happens via USB on the side of the sewing speed. But while the MC400E has a built-in computer interface, it does not connect wirelessly to your network.

Like the Brother PE900 and PE545, it’s Wi-Fi enabled for use with a computer, but editing and pattern selection can still both happen on the built-in color LCD touchscreen. As a computerized embroidery-only machine, the Brother PE900 offers users the reliability and affordability of the Brother name. It’s worth deciding what your must-haves are before you start seriously searching for a machine so you don’t have buyer’s remorse later. 1.
