This is a red painted pressed steel pop gun with rings pressed into the body. Flared muzzle with a large lithographed front sight and a small rear telescopic sight. 7" 17cm Description: This gun is a paper buster and is a copy of the LMCo Super Numatic (Langson Manufacturing Company, Chicago Illinois). Padjon is not a toy company (in fact in the 1953 Sydney telephone directory they are listed as an Engineering works company). They appear to have made a number of toys though (see ad on the right of picture which is from 1957) and may have done so as a sideline to supplement income. Usually we call these ray guns or space guns because of the way they look, though they were rarely marketed as such but this one has a name which uses the “ATOM” appellation so it possibly was marketed as a space gun in Australia.SUPERMAN SPACE SATELLITE GUN - PARK PLASTICS FOR KELLOGS - USA Small red plastic space gun with telescopic sight, shoots spinners. The toy appears in a 1964 Japanese exporter's catalog. It is shown with a front grip that did not feature on the actual gun.
