Any input on which fluid is better suited for my 2001 F-550, 6 speed manual transmission with a Chevron 408 with the Autogrip? I am in the Northwest with temps typically not less than freezing for a month in winter & not hotter than 80 in the summer. I installed a new PTO pump ( [font=TREBUCHET, 'TREBUCHET MS']PARKER GRESEN HYDRAULIC PUMP # P16-115A-2N2)[/font] to replace the damaged splines on the old one (put together dry from the factory & the splines rusted/worn), changed the filter & put in 100% new AW-32 fluid. Ever since the hydraulics will make a flutter noise when a ram is put to the end of its stroke, the winches are slower/growly. All else being fine before the pump, fluid & filter change. Any suggestions? The Chevron dealer says either AW-32 or ATF is fine, it had hydraulic fluid in it prior to this problem, not sure of the weight, whatever it came with from the dealer. Thanks.
