I’d also be remiss if I didn’t recommend the 2006 remake starring Nicolas Cage as the doomed policeman, which is an absolute mess of a film but features this iconic scene. The iconic, steeply angled roof is easily detached for access to the detailed interior. The bedroom on the upper level and the living area, study and kitchenette on the lower level are full of accessories to create a cozy atmosphere. Tim Burton’s adaptation of the Washington Irving short story is a cult classic thanks to Burton’s signature aesthetic and some wonderfully hammy performances, especially from Christopher Walken who plays the infamous headless horseman.
