Like our own, the Star Wars universe just keeps expanding. In addition to the 12 movies, shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian are only taking us deeper and deeper into a galaxy far, far away. And while that's a boon for Star Wars fans, it's an even bigger advantage for those who love Halloween, because that just means more and more opportunities for Star Wars family Halloween costumes. Pic credit: Lucasfilm Ming-Na Wen brought so much to that performance — she was a delight to work with and is so interested in this character. I think fans are gonna like it, we’re definitely going somewhere with it, and I’m glad [producer] Dave Filoni had that idea and let us run with it. So Wen was ecstatic to make her return in Season 2 as a cyborg assassin now partnered with the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett. For her first episode this season, director Robert Rodriguez brought the pair together with “such tremendous energy,” Wen says. “I use the word ‘rawness.’ It’s a little bit different. There’s just this like guttural rawness and I think that comes from Boba’s character and what he’s gone through and now Fennec has also experienced death and it’s changed her.” Having been recently saved by Fett has allowed Wen to explore a more vulnerable side of the character who may just be realizing she’s not as invincible as she once thought. It’s clear the Agents of Shield star enjoys playing another formidable warrior on-screen, and Star Wars fans eager to see how Fennec became the exceptional hunter they know today.Both Wen and Filoni are graduates of Mount Lebanon High School. “Dave and I actually grew up in the same town…. An elite assassin, mercenary, and bounty hunter; Fennec Shand worked for many of the top underworld crime syndicates until most of her employers were imprisoned by the New Republic. Shand, hiding out on her own, became a bounty target herself. She was left for dead in the Tatooine sand after being shot by Toro Calican, only to be saved from death by Boba Fett.

a b Wen, Breznican & Robinson 2019, 53:52—54:55 Wen: "There were so many influences of like the Asian costumes that she wore. ... Natalie Portman's character, Padmé. ... There was all this incredible images, but yet there were very few Asians in the films. So it was very nice to see Tran in it and now I'm part of it. Any sort of representation is important and necessary and I'm just happy I got chosen. Like, it was meant to be." A podcast co-host for Podro Pascal (a Pedro Pascal Podcast), The Fordcast (a Harrison Ford Podcast), and Cinema Sibs (where she talks about films with her brother), she is someone who just loves to share her love of things with the world around her and sometimes, that does include often crying about Parks and Recreation, her favorite show.
