Our Chalk Wall Paint provides a durable, scrubbable ultra-matte finish on interior walls, with colours matched in our Trim Paint range for a soft-satin finish. Water-based with minimal VOCs and virtually no odour, our paint is UKCA and EN71-3 certified, meaning it is safe for use on children’s toys. Every range is self-priming and simple to use to help you achieve your decorating goals. Simply prepare your surface, then paint. Frenchic is ideal for wood, laminate, uPVC and so much more! A durable matt chalk paint intended for use on walls, this range is suitable for washing clean, and can also be used on a variety of other applications like wood, concrete, and laminate. Frenchic wall paints are self-priming for easy application. Frenchic Al Fresco Inside/Outside RangeThere’s also no need to wax or seal the item afterwards – just wait for the paint to dry and you’re good to go. Once your piece is prepped and ready to paint, make yourself some space to carry out the project. Put down dust sheets or similar to protect the surfaces your piece is standing on. Get together all your brushes, rollers and tray if using. Mask off edges, remove any drawers and mask as shown by Craig in the video. As with all Frenchic products, the paint is all natural, zero VOC, and solvent free with no odour. It has a rich superior coverage and is EN71 certified making it safe for use on children’s furniture and toys and is also safe for pets. A great tip is to paint with your brush strokes following the grain of the wood (which tends to run along the width of surfaces or up and down/along legs or ledges). This will make for a natural looking finish. Craig gives great demo in the video of how to deal with areas where panels meet, and the grain is at different angles.

Smaller brushes will take care of the narrow or fiddly bits, such as chair spindles or table legs. Larger brushes or a small roller will rapidly cover the larger areas, such as the tabletop. Leave subsequent coats to dry and then you can carefully turn over your piece, so it is the right way up and get going with painting the top in the same way. Step 4: Top It Off If possible, it is often best to turn over your piece of furniture so you can start painting the bottom and lower parts first. It really makes these bits easy to see and reach. Plus it saves you from a lot of potential bending! If you can raise it up on a table then even better. Step 2: Go with the Grain Frenchic are best known for their chalk and mineral based paints, but the range is broader than that, including: Once dry, you can leave it with a matt finish or buff to achieve a Frenchic gleam to your furniture with the built in wax infusion. That is how easy it is!Finishing coat – it is not necessary to apply finishing coat or a varnish over Lazy Range or Al Fresco but should you wish to do so, leave 2 hours after the final coat of Lazy Range before applying. Frenchic also offers other tools of the trade, including Italian handcrafted brushes, environmentally friendly sparkling mineral powder, odourless paint, an odourless wax that also has the EN:71-3 certfication, a liquid Finishing Coat and aprons giving you everything you need to complete the job. The shade range is lovely, ranging from shabby chic pastels through eye-catching brights to soothing neutrals. Most people will be able to find something they like that will suit their home and personality. As with all of our Frenchic paints, The Lazy Range has minimal VOC content, and has been painstakingly tested to achieve UKCA and EN71-3 certification. This means it is safe to be used on your children's toys, making it the perfect choice to update your nursery furniture. Thanks to its water resistance and durability, it is also a suitable option for kitchens in need of a freshen-up.

Painting made simple

If you’d like to see me putting them to use in an upcycling project or two, let me know and I’ll see what I can do! Useful items like masking tape, a paint tray if using a roller, dust sheets, something to open your tin, and something to stir the paint. Introducing Our Entire Collection of Lazy Range Colours Introducing Our Entire Collection of Lazy Range Colours There were some excellent examples of upcycling to look at, including renovated oilcloth tablecloths that woud otherwise have been thrown away, decorated bottles and vases from the household recycling box, and upcycled lampshades that had originally been bought for 50p in a charity shop. From trash to treasure in two or three easy steps. Use a paint tray to coat the roller, ensuring your roller is nice and evenly loaded. Craig’s tip is to start painting in the middle of the top and to work outwards. Keep it light because exerting firm pressure can cause rollers to skid, particularly on the first coat, leading to an uneven texture. Watch out for any excess paint sitting on the edges – you can smooth this with a paintbrush if necessary. Finish off with long, even strokes in the direction of the grain.
