The 1:144 scale is mainly used for large aircraft models (airliners, bombers, etc.). A plane in the 1:144 scale is 144 times smaller than the actual aircraft. For example, if the plane is 60 m long, then the model will measure 1 foot and 5 inches / 41.66 cm in length (6000/144 = 41.66).

There are some good photos on the internet that will help you finish your model, although I think you have some flexibility when it comes to exact colours to use because of all the reflective qualities of the real material used in the ISS.

The components feature raised panel lines on the fuselage and this may not impress all of you, and detail as you’d expect with an older moulding is not as fine as, say, the newer kits from this manufacturer. Recessed panel lined are moulded into the wings and tailplane (and Shuttle). The recessed panels are a bit deep to say the least, but maybe not too bad. The type is certainly impressive as you can see from the video at the start of this review, so this project is all going to be about fine preparation and that finished paint job – immaculate! Let’s go inside…The bay doors have slightly chunky toy-like hinges, and separate parts to represent the solar panels that provide the vehicle with electric power while it is in space. The two doors are clipped in place using the flexibility of the plastic, and they can be left loose if you wish, leaving an antenna at full-width across the bay. If you wish to close the doors, that part should be cut down to 65mm to ensure it doesn’t foul the closure. Another figure in a space suit making a wide, expansive gesture with their left hand is included to be placed anywhere you like, really.
