Senior Graphic Designer Madison O'Neil on creating those amazing new minifigures -- including a revealing look at Crosshair. The two speeders are included because we wanted to add some extra value to the set. We know that the speeders will be seen in the show, however, we do not know exactly in which context they will be seen. I guess we will have to wait and see like everybody else. We also love Gonk droids, so we are excited too, and happy that we were able to include one here."

Minifigures [4] – Cad Bane and Omega are excellent figures, but could have had a couple more figures given the reused Hunter and Fennec Shand minifigs. My thoughts exactly. Do we really need the speeders? Certainly their inclusion says to me that they wanted to charge more for what they intend to be the only Bad Batch set. Although missing Omega is very problematic, but maybe she could appear in a Microfighter set if they really don’t intend to produce more Bad Batch sets. Following his extensive injuries on Lola Sayu and Skako Minor, Echo joins the Bad Batch and wears armour which complements his squadmates. Unfortunately, the kama that distinguishes Echo from other Bad Batch members is printed rather than employing a fabric element and the helmet seems imperfect as well, despite featuring excellent detail. Echo's decorated arm looks splendid though, portraying his cybernetic implants.

Minifigures

I was honestly surprised when I finished the model as this section definitely looks like it needs a few more pieces to finish it off.

It’s a rather sizeable build, measuring around 40cm wide and 40cm long, plus roughly 20cm tall in flight mode. Overall, the minifigure selection in this set is probably one of its stronger assets, and LEGO likely knows that. The exclusive Cad Bane and Omega are going to be huge draws, but with Hunter and Fennec Shand being reused minifigures, the number of exclusive figures in this set is lower than smaller sets like 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe. The wings are also able to pivot up and down. After attaching them, we build some cowling over the engines.

Their positioning seems strange, although I appreciate such accuracy when compared with the animated series. One poster features a Special Ops Clone Trooper beneath an Aurebesh word which reads 'HISTORY', although the word 'MONTHLY should appear underneath. The second poster displays an imposing Providence-class Dreadnought engaging with a Venator-class Star Destroyer. The caption above reads 'SPACE BATTLES'. I also like how the Justifier looks in its landed mode from the front – the landing gear looks pretty neat below each wing, like some sort of Star Wars airplane. The next minifigure is Fennec Shand, who is also not new; however, this is the first set which includes Fennec with both her hair and helmet. Includes speeder with 2 stud shooters and another speeder with clip for blaster to add to play possibilities Each member of the Bad Batch has a distinct personality and a unique set of armor. Also, despite the fact that they are clones, they each have unique facial features whether that be scars, face paint, goggles, tattoos, and even cybernetic implants. We wanted to make sure to capture all of these fun features in the minifigures, and we created a few new elements to help with that as well. Seeing Crosshair’s new set of armor for the first time made me very excited to watch the new Bad Batch series! I can’t wait to see how and why he gets it."

There are some exposed colourful Technic elements behind, but I don’t mind too much as covering them up would’ve significantly reduced the already limited space in this section. Finally Echo. Part of the 501st during the Clone Wars, Echo was missing, presumed dead. However, he had been captured and utilised by the Techno Union to provide strategic information to the Seperatists during the Anaxes Campaign. After being rescued by Captain Rex, Anakin Skywalker and the Bad Batch, he opted to join the renegade Clone Unit, continuing to be part of their ongoing adventures. Echo’s pale head is printed with silver connections, and a cybernetic implant. In the Bad Batch, Echo has a data probe in place of his right hand, and this is represented by printed arms and a grey hand.

I understand these moving parts are necessary to make the mechanism work but I would’ve preferred it to be covered or disguised a bit better. Innovation [3] – Some fun play features and the engine pod looks unique thanks to a cool build technique, but overall nothing super innovative. His face print features the injured eye, as well as extensive scarring on the left side of his face. Spring-loaded shooters are cleverly concealed beneath the fuselage, providing welcome play value without affecting the appearance of the shuttle. They can be accidentally activated quite easily though and the absence of landing gear is frustrating because there is definitely enough space for simple landing struts, even if they were removable instead of folding. The folding wings are composed mostly of wedge plates and attach to the Technic joint disks on the main fuselage. 1×2 plates with Technic pin holes create hinges to attach angled areas between the crew compartment and wings. A large gap remains between the wings and the nacelles to allow the wings to fold up. It’s frankly an odd choice at this price point to begin with, as the Justifier isn’t really an iconic ship so the high price tag is even more of a hard sell.
