Anna is the last of Sam’s “visitors.” She works for a delivery company and comes and goes bringing and delivering boxes. It’s also not striped, or rather, not striped in the same way as the others. The lines are much more subtle and I think it makes a lovely change. Making DIY Christmas ornaments is a wonderful way to spread the holiday spirit. So easy, it’s a wonderful project for all ages. All you need is some white or silver paper, a pencil and scissors. Add some glitter for extra shimmer! Wow – that was quite a brief, but it meant that I could really exercise my imagination with the designs and I loved that! I thought long and hard about what patterns could work for all kinds of occasions and still be easy enough for everyone to knit because you know I’m all about patterns for everyone to have a go at! I hope you’ll like what I’ve come up with! Dancer is knitted in the new sparkly Fairy Lights yarn. Oh what fun this was to create! I spent a long time searching for just the right stitch to evoke the idea of fairy lights but without all the tangled cables and testing each bulb to see that they worked!Not only is this a fun kids craft, but these make lovely little keepsakes to remember your little one’s Christmas’! Use their little handprints to make cute christmas tree cards and designs that you and the whole family can treasure forever. The Horizon line is spun from premium, anti-pilling acrylic of the highest quality. Among other things, this means that the yarn is processed multiple times, reminiscent of how wool yarn is made. The acrylic is combed, making it extra soft and fluffy. In addition, Horizon goes through a Hi-Bulk process where the yarn is steamed during production, making it contract slightly. This results in a pleasant, soft volume. Transform plain paper plates into festive faces! Great for toddlers and older kids too. This cool design from Easy Peasy and Fun uses buttons for eyes and rosy cheeks, white glitter, paint and glue. Or why not combine 3 plates to make a snowman body? We also love this reindeer design too! 4. Christmas festive headbands We provide you with a master file of the drama script and song lyrics (text only, no music score), and a license granting you legal permission to print copies for your kids, copy and paste into PowerPoint or other projection program to use in rehearsals and performance, print on a white board or flip chart. In fact, you can do all of these if you wish. I haven’t been able to say much about what I was knitting over the Spring and Summer this year, but now all can be revealed … in fact, you may have seen what I was up to and started to knit it for yourself! (It’s such fun to be cryptic sometimes! 🙂 )You can see that it’s not a true cable but it looks very effective and I like the way that it breaks the yarn colours up in places.

6. Tiny Christmas tree

Isn’t it lovely? It’s the perfect gingerbread colour and it’s got Christmassy red, green and white in there too. It’s almost good enough to eat! This Christmas paper plate angel is so cute! Great for slightly older kids, it takes under an hour to make and will look pretty placed at the top of your tree for all to see afterwards. 8. Pretty pine cone ornaments

All of the yarns are striped; Robin matches the other yarns in the Country Birds range, Candy Cane is made up of just three colours which looks very effective, and Holly Berry and Fairy Lights are also striped in a way that will be familiar to those who have knitted with WYS yarn before. Oh, they are so good at creating striped yarns! Holly Berry and Robin became permanent additions to the WYS Signature 4ply range and have been very popular, as you can imagine. West Yorkshire Spinners have definitely got some kind of magic going in their dye house and they create amazing stripes! I think stripy yarns are the best sort of yarns to knit – perfect for pulling you along as you work “just one more colour”, and Gingerbread is no different. Here’s the pattern for the Silent Night yarn, first of all. It’s called Comet, as all of the patterns are named after Father Christmas’s reindeer (I told you I would explain!). Oh wow! TWO sparkly yarns! And a new pattern for each of them … I went to get some more ice for my drink and sat in the shade to think about it all 🙂 This year, there would be FIVE Christmas yarns to choose from, a new free pattern for Silent Night and a pattern book with patterns for each of the yarns. That was just Christmas-tastic! 🎄
