About this deal

Last but certainly not least you can opt to rent a car and drive to Fes yourself! Definitely a road trip for the memory books, don’t ya think?!A world of stunning beauty and extreme danger . . . Dinah Jefferies is at the top of her game’ GILL PAUL All train times and fares are available at http://www.oncf.ma Trains are good and cheap in Morocco. Gare de Marrakech (Marrakech Station) is about 2 miles from the medina. The area around the train station is nothing like the old quarter. It is spacious, clean and modern. Set in the 1960s, this is the third in the Daughters of War trilogy. Of course, I didn't know this when I signed up to read Pigeonhole's serialisation of Night Train to Marrakech, but I think it is possible to read the book as a standalone anyway.

I was slow to get into this book, but was so glad that I did. It was atmospheric, drew me into the souks of Marrakech. I did not feel the same about this book sadly. Yes, it is another vivid and sensory fuelled novel where the sights, sounds and smells of Marrakech are brought alive by the author's writing, but on this occasion I found the plot a little tedious and actually far fetched. Rich in courage, love and sacrifice, but chilling and taut in its portrayal of the horrors of war’ KATE FURNIVALL Completely swept me away to another place and time. Dinah is the queen of sumptuous settings, transporting the reader effortlessly from chocolate-box Devonshire to the cabaret clubs of 1920s Paris and war-torn Malta. A marvellous, multi-layered story, populated with characters to really care for’ HAZEL GAYNORFor The Budget Conscious: Dar Borj is a cozy family-run Dar located in the medina and a few minutes walk from The Blue Gate. With an unbelievable rooftop terrace, enjoy some mint tea and watch the sunset over the media.

Night Train to Marrakech - Fantastic Fiction

On the day of your departure date to Fes, you’ll need to make your way to the Marrakech Train Station. Built-in 2008, the Marrakech Train Station is located west of the Marrakech Medina, about a 10-15 minute taxi ride. I have only 8 days and I want to see Fes, Marakesh and Essouir and may be Meknes. I know its liitle bit to much for so short time.

You’ll want (and frankly need) as much time as you can get to explore Fes. It’s massive and nothing short of fascinating! If the train from Marrakech to Fes doesn’t seem like the right fit for you, understand you have other transportation options to choose from. This is your trip, so you do you! Marrakech To Fes By Bus It is set in Morocco in the sixties when there was a good deal of political tension of which I knew very little. So it was interesting to learn from the narrative about this era and country. The author’s research has really paid off as the descriptions are very vivid. The sights and smells and life in the souks and Riads are so well written that it is easy to imagine yourself transported there. It was also refreshing to have a romantic love story about a couple in their seventies. Dinah Jefferies wields her storytelling magic on the island of Malta . . . It’s engrossing and sensual, full of the heat of the Mediterranean sun’ GILL PAUL

Night Train to Marrakech: the spellbinding escapist

If travelers have no intended stops between Marrakech and Tangier, the night train is the most practical option. A bus is certainly cheaper, but it will take longer than the train. The bus will also be uncomfortable, and the night bus will be a particularly miserable experience. Taking the bus during the daytime is the worst choice, as travelers will lose an entire day of exploring to transportation.A mouthwatering read, intense and emotional. I loved it. Its characters hooked me irresistibly and stole my heart . . . a wonderful, heart-wrenching tale of love, danger and bone-chilling secrets.” ―KATE FURNIVALL, bestselling author of The Survivors
