About this deal

Central Vapors eJuices and e-cigs are age-restricted products. Eliquid, with or without nicotine, including DIY E-Juice vapor, is also considered age-restricted tobacco products as regulated by local, state, and federal law. The pod is a tinted plastic, but it’s clear enough to see your juice levels through. However as the pod sits quite low into the device, it’s hard to see when your juice levels are low unless you tip the device or remove the pod. Smok’s quality can be all over the place but the Novo 4 is very well built. If you’ve read my Novo X review, you’ll see that I had some issues with the panels creaking and moving slightly which was extremely disappointing. My Novo 4 has none of these issues and feels very solid and well made. These are both excellent pod systems, but they are made for different roles. While the Smok Novo 4 is ideal for mouth-to-lung vaping, the Nord 4 is suited for direct-to-lung vaping. It puts out 80 watts and uses two sub-ohm coils, including a 0.16 RMP 2 mesh coil. It also has a larger 2,000 mah battery, which is necessary because it runs at higher wattages. Smok Novo 4 vs. Uwell Caliburn A2

Thankfully Smok has finally realized it’s 2021 and the Novo 4 has Type-C charging. It charges in 90 minutes and does pass through charging so you can vape it while it charges. While plugged in the Novo 4 gives you the estimated charging time on the screen and shows you your current battery charge. It’s a really neat feature because it at least gives you an idea of how long it will take to charge. With the airflow open you get a tight MTL draw that is really nice at any wattage as it’s warm but not hot. Closing down the airflow makes the vapor much hotter and I found it most enjoyable to turn down the wattage when vaping with the airflow like this. No matter how you set it, if you’re a MTL vaper, you’re going to like the draw. This pod mod from Smok is the latest in a series of excellent pod mods. But is it good enough to carry on this line’s good name? The dirty little secret of the industry is that most pod mods leak. As long as the connection is kept clean and as long as the leaking is not excessive, the pod mod should be fine. This device is not very bad when it comes to leaking. There is just a little bit of moisture on the connection, as stated above.

Launched in 2010, SMOK has firmly established itself as one of the best-selling vape brands around. Its extensive collection of vape pens, pod systems, mods, tanks and coils is popular for being high-quality, durable and cutting-edge. Their flagship products, such as the NORD series, have been hailed as arguably one of the best all-round pod kits around. It is a tiny screen, but nothing fancy or big is needed on a device this size. It is 0.49 inches or 13 x 8.5 mm. It has a basic display that shows the wattage and battery level shown as a percentage and a bar. Beneath that are the coil resistance and a puff counter. The only niggle I had so far was that the base is curved so the Novo 4 doesn’t stand upright, this made the photography a bit of a challenge and meant that you had to place it down on the panel which will likely scratch in time. The SMOK Novo 4 Replacement Coil is the original LP1 Coil Series compatible with Novo 4 Pod and Novo 4 Mini Pod. Adopting three silicone rings with press fit coil installation for a perfect leakproof performance, the Novo 4 Coil features a 0.8ohm Mesh Coil, 0.8ohm MTL Coil, 0.9ohm Mesh MTL Coil and 1.2ohm Mesh Coil to extract purest flavor from your favorite E-juices or nic salts. To prevent leaking, these coils are fitted with 3 silicone o rings; 1 where the coil meets the hole that you draw from, 1 where the coil meets the bottom of the inside of the pod, and 1 where the coil meets the outside bottom of the pod. This setup seems to do a good job because even after 2 weeks of using the same coil I did not have any ejuice leak out from the pod.

Been using the .9 meshed in a Pozz, and the flavour's been damn good. The coil life's also been excellent considering I keep throwing fruit and dessert flavours in the pod and I've had no issues with leaks. The Pozz itself is more problematic (battery life) than these are. For the first time, a Novo device does not use replaceable pods with built in coils. Instead for the Novo 4 it uses a 2ml pod that takes removable and replaceable coils. In the box you get one LP1 0.8Ω mesh coil that is best at 12W and one 0.8Ω LP1 DC coil that is also rated for 12-25W. I find this coil suits me best at the 15 watt suggested range. gives a good hit not too strong not too weak . Just right for me. The pods are refillable and use replaceable plug-n-play coils. The only criticism of the pods is that they only hold 2 ml of liquid. 3 ml would have been a substantial improvement over the previous Smok pod mods. This pod mod uses an 800 mah integrated battery. That might seem a bit small to some people, but for a 25 watt device, that is not too bad. Besides, the coils are meant to be vaped well under 25 watts, so 800 mah is where it needs to be. Expect the battery to last 12 to 14 hours, depending on the settings and frequency of use.

Sadly, I didn’t have any other LP1 coils to hand to see how they performed in the Novo 4 Mini. Hopefully, they do a good job, and may even offer slightly more variation and perhaps a better DTL performance. The battery section is pretty solid. It has a long and curved shape, and it feels very sturdy. It should be able to withstand some moderate bangs and pumps. Just do not throw it around like it is one of those mods that looks like a football and can be treated like one. The firing button is well placed close to the mouthpiece so that it can be pushed with the forefinger or a thumb if turned around. The screen is also well-placed down towards the bottom so that it is not obstructed by the hand. You can vape the included DC coil anywhere from 12-25W but I liked it the most at 16W. It’s a good wattage level that I found to bring out the flavor of my ejuices while still being warm and strong enough to enjoy. The LP1 mesh coil is similar to the DC coil and honestly, I didn’t notice a big difference between the two. This coil is only rated as being best at 12W, no wattage range, so I kept it around 12W to prevent burning out the coil. The flavor is slightly less intense than the DC coil, probably due to the lowest wattage, but if you like a cooler vape it’s not bad. The flavor from these coils is even better than previous Novo’s and those pods were already very good.

Available in 3 different coil options, you can choose your preferred resistance depending on your vaping style: If you were expecting a radical redesign for the Novo 4 then you’re going to be disappointed. The Novo 4 looks virtually identical to previous Novo devices and retains the same shape and rounded edges. The coils have 2 flat sides that match up with the bottom of the pod. This means that the coil only goes in a certain way so make sure that you insert it properly. In fact, I was really impressed with the flavor delivered from the 0.9Ω LP1 mesh coils. They don’t quite deliver on the power to get a strong restricted DTL draw but are very good with the airflow cut down for an MTL draw.
