Side effects: See SPC for full details. Hypersensitivity reactions including skin rashes, urticaria, allergic dermatitis, angioedema, and anaphylaxis. Bronchospasm, hepatic dysfunction, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis and acute pancreatitis. Nervousness, irritability, restlessness, excitability, headache, dizziness, insomnia, increased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, dysuria and urinary retention. Tachycardia, palpitations, dyspnoea. The concomitant use with other products containing paracetamol may lead to an overdose. Paracetamol overdose may cause liver failure which may require liver transplant or lead to death. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Do not take this medicine with any other products that contain paracetamol, as this can easily result in exceeding the maximum dose of paracetamol. If urine is collected within 24 hours of a dose of this product, a metabolite may cause a colour interference with laboratory determinations of 5 hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5- HIAA) and vanillymandelic acid (VMA). Contains paracetamol. Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well.
The following adverse events have been observed in clinical trials with phenylephrine and may therefore represent the most commonly occurring adverse events. Do not take this medicine continuously for longer than five days without consulting a doctor. If your symptoms don't go away or get worse despite taking this medicine, ask your pharmacist for advice. A minor hydroxylated metabolite which is usually produced in very small amounts by mixed-function oxidases in the liver and which is usually detoxified by conjugation with liver glutathione may accumulate following paracetamol overdose and cause liver damage. Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing products should be avoided. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
