The entire climax for the episode has a truly epic fight between Cassandra and Andrew, on a hot-air balloon in flight. While this Moment of Awesome primarily belongs to Cassandra, the scene also gives Rapunzel, Eugene and even Pascal the opportunity to share in on the awesomeness. Accidental Suicide: Of a sort; when Eugene cuts Rapunzel's long hair, Gothel clings to the strands in desperation as they lose their magic and she rapidly ages until she dies. Keep in mind that it had been shown before (albeit briefly) that Gothel will age slightly if she touches Rapunzel's hair if it loses its power. The Demanitus Device activating and ending the storm for good. The effects of the device are quite impressive. This was what Rapunzel had lived with for nineteen years. The silent secret that destroyed her inside when she wasn’t strong enough to stop it. The thing that took all the color from her already tiny world, the light from the faraway sun, the small amount of air her lungs used.

At seeing Rapunzel torn between returning to the tower and enjoying her freedom, Flynn tries to use this to his advantage, and nearly convinces her into returning to the tower to "save a mother daughter relationship". Unknown to him, he's terribly mistaken about the situation: on top of not knowing Rapunzel's lived in that tower her whole life, her "forbidden roadtrip" is the only freedom she's had, and her "overprotective mother" is her cruel abductor. At Corona castle, Rapunzel and her parents were listening to the shoemaker's problem. King Frederic suggests that the shoemaker start to make boots for the royal guards, even though the guards didn't really need new boots. Rapunzel was happy to learn how to rule the kingdom from her parents before they go to on their anniversary trip for two days. King Frederic, despite his confidence that Rapunzel can do a good job at ruling the kingdom, still worries about her a little. Meanwhile, in Eugene's room, Eugene and his friend, Lance, discussed on what Eugene will be doing as temporary king of Corona, to which he replies that he'll enjoy some luxuries at first and then make some proclamations. Lance found Eugene's eagerness amusing. A TV series based on the film entitled Tangled: The Series (retitled to Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure after Season 1) premiered March 2017. (In the original version, the witch discovers Rapunzel’s nightly trysts with the prince when she notices that Rapunzel has fallen pregnant.) Book Ends: Queen Arianna looking lovingly at a baby Rapunzel before embracing her. It happens again in the end when they are reunited. There's also when Eugene grabs a broken piece of glass to cut off Rapunzel's hair, and somehow manages to not cut himself on it.

Disneyfication: Like Sleeping Beauty, this was going to be a case of using an already Lighter and Softer version of a pre-existing story. The original Grimm's Rapunzel myth involved Eye Scream and Teen Pregnancy. Plus, just as in practically every adaption of this story, the "witch" is made much less sympathetic. A live-action film adaptation is reported to be in development. The movie is also featured as a world in Kingdom Hearts III. Similar to the above, in "I've Got a Dream", Flynn says that his dreams "mainly happen somewhere warm and sunny, on an island that I own, surrounded by enormous piles of money". He later marries the princess of Corona, which has the sun as its symbol and has its capital on an island. Deus ex Machina: The healing tears at the very end. While the movie is different in many ways from the original fairy tale, this detail comes straight from the source material. The fact that her healing powers were rather mysterious to begin with may also be a factor. However, nothing in the movie itself foreshadows it in any way, unless you believe the theory that the drop of sun from the intro IS the tear that saved Flynn. Mixed with Heartwarming. Just the principle of the scene: after two seasons of living with that one promise she couldn't keep, Rapunzel could redeem her reputation of always keeping her promises.Metawise: Rule #1 of 3D animation is to avoid hair. Tangled features 70 feet of it. First it's just looped up. Then used as rope and as a lasso. Then it gets wet. Then braided full of flowers. Then it lights up from root to tail with the power of the sun. Rapunzel having the capacity to forgive a powerless Cassandra when the she expresses genuine remorse for what she's done. Anyone else could've disowned Cassandra or considered her a lost cause after the events of "Once a Handmaiden". Even Cassandra questions why Rapunzel wouldn't give up on her. But Rapunzel proves to be the bigger woman and open her heart to her former friend and ally. That is strength. Detailed solutions, such as the integrated fly screen, antibacterial and washable paddings, the practical Y-distributor under the ears and the Ergomatic ratchet closure on the chin make handling the helmets a breeze. In " Rapunzel's Return", Quirin was mentioned a few times and had a chemical named Quirineon after him by Varian. At the near end of the episode, he was finally free from the amber when Rapunzel used the Moonstone Incantation. Following Varian's success in stirring Rapunzel from her trance, he proceeded to embrace his father. As Varian inquired about Quirin's letter, which had disintegrated, he just smiled and said that he is proud of Varian and always has. He and Varian joined the others in celebrating Corona's liberation afterward.
